CAN J1939 Expansion Module for iX and EXTER/E1000 Operator Panels (MAEN962/MADE962)
The expansion module is used for the operator panel to communicate via CAN J1939. The correct driver must be installed in the operator panel.
CAB15: CANopen Adapter. CIMREX and EXTER / E- and E1000 Series. RS422
The adapter is easily mounted in the RS422 interface on the operator panel . Should the installation space limit the possibility to plug in the adapter directly on the back of the operator panel, simply use the optional bracket and connector cable to mount the adapter in a more convenient location (up to 1.5 meters from the panel).

Do the Tx (timeout) and Rx (retries) commands work for EXTER / E1000?

You can find information about how the operator panels reacts to different solvents in the installation manuals. Regarding acetone, we recommend that you do not install an EXTER or CIMREX / E1000 or E-series panel in an enviroment where it will be exposed to acetone vapour.

How to get the old Index functionality in E1000
When upgrading a project from E-series to E1000-series there is a difference between the Index functionality.
For example if I1 = 1
E-series
D0.0I1 -> D1.0
D0I1 (Signed 32-bit) -> D1 (Signed 32-bit)
E1000-series
D0.0I1 -> D0.1
D0I1 (Signed 32-bit) -> D2 (Signed 32-bit)
There is a possibility to get the old E-series behaviour in E1000-series if the driver being used is a v5 (generic) driver or most of the MELSEC drivers.
To get the old functionality two driver commands XFLINDEX and XBITINDEX has to be set.

E1000: CAB7 no longer available
Since the CAB7 is no longer available, the current work around is to change controller port in your HMI project to COM2 (RS-232).
Use the converter 6ES5 734-1BD20 from Siemens to connect the CPU port on the controller and the HMI via a 25 to 9-pin converter.

E1000: Load project to terminal from USB memory
If the message "External memory card detected" is not displayed right away when inserting the USB stick, wait for 30 seconds.
E1000: Japanese characters
Customer uses font MSSONG.TTF and tested DejaVu.TTF for Japanese
characters, it looks good in the computer simulation but not on the E1032
panel.
ANSWER
Works in font "Arial Unicode MS" which indicates that MSSong and
DejaVu does not contain the character set that the customer has used.
Note that font "Arial Unicode MS" (Arialuni.ttf) it is about 22MB big
and can not be loaded to memory of an E1032, which is not possible to expand
the memory!
The memory must be expanded to cope with this font. Since the E1032 can not be
expanded, there must be a E1070 or higher.
Tested in the E1070 with 64MB memory card, works ok!

Is it possible to communicate to S7-1200 system with the E1000 terminals?
Yes, but in the driver properties you need to change the slot number to "1"
The S7-1200 has only one communication port- Profinet or TCP(Iso on TCP). With the driver S7-ISO over TCP the tests has been successful.
Internal memory card in E1000-series
How do you expand the memory capacity of a terminal E1000.
This is done by using a CompactFlash card (CF). To put this card in the
terminal assigned as needed. On the circuit board inside the terminal cover on
the back, there's a socket for inserting the CompactFlash card.
The project must also be set for an expanded internal memory expansion, meny
selection Configuration - Terminal ...

Set Clock in E1000
To set the operator panel clock in E1000, a maneuverable Date/Time object (Digital clock) must be defined.
The mode switch (service meny) have only function for
Date/Time format.

How to use two different VNC clients to the same E1000 panel?
It
is impossible to use two Remote Access at the same time with terminal.
Solution
The E1000 terminal could work with two
VNC clients (computers) one connected to the port 5800 in Remote Access,
and the other one connected to port 5900 in web mode. Test made with E1071
and E-Designer project, settings in Network Services.

The Service Menu is accessed by setting the mode switches on the operator
panel in mode 1000. Please see the Hardware and Installation manual for the
operator panel for information about the mode switches.

Update System Program from Memory Card
Insert a Compact Flash
or USB memory stick with a new system program and follow
the
instructions. The system program can also be updated via the configuration
tool
for the operator panels.

Export Project to Memory Card
In order to export the project to a Compact Flash memory card or USB Flash
drive,
select Transfer/Export Project Transfer File. The output from the
export is a datfile.
Load Project from Memory Card
Save the dat-file to the library BACKUP/PROJECTS on the external memory
card.
The file structure is automatically created when formatting the card
in the operator panel. If no operator panel is available, the library structure
must be created manually. A function or touch key can be configured in the
configuration tool to download the
operator panel project, by selecting
the function Loads project from memory card. See also chapter Function Keys.
The command MCI can be used to indicate that a memory card is used in the
panel. Type MCIx on the Commands line by selecting Setup/System Signals. x
represents the digital signal that will be set when a memory card is
inserted.

Remote Access Viewer v1.5.4, for Exter/E1000 - TxA/TxB/TAxx - X2 panels
Remote Access Viewer is a program for remote access and control Exter/E1000 - TxA/TxB/TAxx - X2 panels.
It is possible to access, reflect and control panels
from a PC by using the VNC client program, Remote Access Viewer (freeware),
together with the built-in VNC server (Remote Access function) in the iX
Panels.
NB: Even though the help file suggests another key combination, please note that Ctrl-Alt-Shift-F toggles Full screen mode on / off best, so you Restore from Fullscreen mode with this key combination!
