Configuration software for frequency inverters 

BFI Tools is a powerful PC Software for drive commissioning and parameter backup. BFI Tools standard functionality, free of charge, allows real-time parameter editing and drive network communication as well as parameter upload, download and storage. With the extended functionality, simple PLC function programming provides basic control features without involving an external PLC.

Standard features

BFI Tools standard functionality, free of charge, allows real-time parameter editing and drive network communication as well as parameter upload, download and storage:

  • PC communication by Bluetooth or serial RS-485
  • Support for BFI-E2, BFI-H2 and BFI-P2 frequency inverters
  • Update of firmware for drive and BFI-tools from the software itself
  • Upload and download of parameters to the drive or to Optistick
  • Monitor of actual status in the drive
  • Save of parameter settings as RTF-, PDF- or PTB-file

Extended functionality

The extended functionality of BFI Tools gives access to save, upload and download a PLC program to the frequency inverter and the Optistick. The PLC program provides the following features:
  • 2 kbyte program memory
  • I/O handling of standard and optional inputs and outputs
  • Logic functions and arithmetic
  • Comparators
  • Timers and counters
  • Data handling
  • Drive functions and control of the OLED display
  • Values of registers and bits in the PLC is readable and editable as parameter on the OLED display


The extended functionality is free of charge for 60 days as an evaluation license. An evaluation license can be requested in the BFI Tools software under menu "Help\Activate License". A code for enabling the evaluation license is sent by e-mail and is valid for 60 days. After 60 days when the evaluation license has expired, a permanent license can be purchased from Beijer Electronics. Together with the order confirmation a permanent code will be attached. The permanent license code is valid on one computer. It is possible to move the license from one computer to another, but must be done through Beijer Electronics Drive-server.
